As a new immigrant, or as a newcomer from another part of
New Zealand, you are welcome to join Manawatu Newcomers.
We would like you to feel at home in the Manawatu region
and to settle well into your new environment.
Manawatu
Newcomers Network can offer you friendship and support
through various activities. You may also get support with
settlement issues. You are welcome, regardless of your
age, your nationality or the language you speak.
Who are we?
Manawatu Newcomers Network is a non profit organization
run by unpaid volunteers and
comes under the umbrella of the Manawatu Multicultural
Council Inc. Most of us have at
some point been new to the Manawatu region so understand
the difficulties faced when
moving here .
Manawatu Newcomers Network organizing committee is
responsible for planning and
evaluating the schedule of activities, as well as
promotion and publicity. Each activity is
facilitated by a designated leader. We hold monthly
meetings and regular social
events with opportunity to meet and socialize with other
newcomers to the City.
We are here to support anyone new to Manawatu, You do not
have to be from overseas,
if you are new to the Manawatu region from other parts of
New Zealand, Manawatu
Newcomers Network is for you. If you are an immigrant
from an English
speaking country Manawatu Newcomers Network is for
you. If you are from a non-
English speaking country and new to Manawatu, Manawatu
Newcomers Network is
for you.
We are not...
Tied to any church, mosque, temple, synagogue or any other
religious group (but we welcome all regardless of
beliefs.)
We are not tied to any political organisation and welcome
all regardless of political views. We are not tied to any
business or commercial organisation (although as a
non-profit organisation run by volunteers we do accept
donations or sponsorship).
